The top competition and celebration of world dragonboating is approaching fast, preparations are peaking and expectations are rising. The entries are still arriving, 25 countries of all over the world are entered at the moment with more than 3 000 competitors! It will be definitely one of the biggest competitions in the history of World Dragon Boat Racing Championships! We are also inviting the active dragons paddling in some of the corporates´ teams to come to compete in official boates and in World Championships´atmosphere - joined competition for corporate teams will be held on Saturday 29 August in the morning. You can find a brief on this competition and application at these webpages from August 6.
As we have not been given permission to suspend tourist boats from operating on Vltava River during the peak season and with repairs under the Charles Bridge raising safety issues, we consulted with the IDBF. All 2000m races will now be held at the Račice Regatta Centre, along with all other race distances.
All important information regarding Entries, Accreditation, Declarations forms and other can be found in Information Bulletin n°3, available for downloading at Bulletin section, together with Technical Information Bulletin n°4.
Furthemore, we would like you to bear in mind the possibility of official transport, as parking capacity in the Racing Site is limited and official transport will be given priority. We cannot guarantee sufficiant space in case you do not take advantage of official transport offer.
As far as boarding is concerned, we just remind you that we ensure the official, high-quality boarding service directly on Race Site at very advantageous price. Catering outside these places will be limited.
The Organizing Commitee of the 9th World Dragon Boat Racing Championships together with the IDBF is looking forward to meeting all the participating teams and Congress Delegates to the Czech Republic for 'Prague 2009' .
